Are prescription drugs covered by Medicare?

Drugs that are not covered by Medicare

Part B drug coverage

Medicare Part B covers the prescription drugs that a doctor gives out to patients. Various prescriptions that are covered under Part B are included. Part B also covers some outpatient prescription drugs, mainly certain oral cancer drugs (chemotherapy). Eligibility and enrollment

People in Medicare may be eligible for the Medicare Part D insurance program. This includes those 65 or older, those receiving Social Security Disability Insurance benefits or those who have received SSIDs. Once eligibility is determined, you are entitled to enrollment in the Medicare Part D Plan. The first seven months of enrollment will commence three months before your age and end three months after you turn 65.

How to join a drug plan?
