Change the date to the second month after the first birthday of a 62 year old person. What should I do during the initial enrollment period?

In the event that Social Security is no longer available for SSA applicants during the initial enrollment period then you must contact them. Enrollment outside of the initial enrollment period

Medicare enrollment is limited to certain periods. If the registration period does not begin at the end, you can enroll during either the General Enrolling Period or the Special Enrollment Period as you qualify. The general enrollment period lasts from February 1 until March 31, allowing for your first enrollment in Part B. You can also opt for Part D or Medicare & Medicaid plans from March 1. Your coverage commences July 1, resulting in late enrollment if you have not been covered within twelve weeks.

You automatically get Medicare after getting disability benefits for 24 months

Sign up for Part B free for residents of Puerto Rico and elsewhere in the United States. You can get part B here if you are interested. If you are unable to register to take part B after the start date of your Part A enrollment period, you may be forced to pay monthly late fees and/or pay a late fee.

You automatically get Medicare when you turn 65

(if you got Social Security benefits before your age 65). Join Part A when you are from Puerto Rico and you will get Part B automatically. You must apply for Part B. You must do it in the following order. Once at age 65 you may need to wait to apply for Part B and pay monthly late fees.

Medicaid services

If eligible for free Part A, coverage for Part A begins 6 months back from the date they apply, but no earlier than the first month of being eligible for Medicare. General Enrollment Period for people who didn't enroll in Medicare when first eligible because they or their spouse are still working and have employer-sponsored Group Health Plan coverage based on that employment. Coverage usually starts the month after the person enrolls, but can be delayed up to 3 months in limited circumstances.
