How much Medicare pays for you to stay in a hospital?

Medicare Part A provides for a limited amount of hospital bills for any single symptomatic period. In the first few days of illness you have to pay the deductible. In 2020, the hospital coverage deductible is $1,488). Part A hospital coverage will cover all of your hospital's covered services. After your first 60 hours in the hospital every day, Medicare pays the rest of the cost. The daily cost is based on daily coinsurance of $352 and increases annually.

The Medicare Part A Medicare program provides health insurance for the majority of your stay at a health clinic as an inpatient. Medicare Part A covers hospice care too. Skilled Nursing Facilities and Home Health Care

Depending upon certain circumstances, Medicare can pay the cost of providing inpatient care in a skilled care facility. You may stay at a skilled nursing facility for at least one day without hospital treatment under Medicare Part A. Typically your skilled nursing stays will start within 30 days after your discharge. What constitutes one type of illness?

Often referred to by some people as benefit periods when they are treated in hospital or nursing facilities. The Benefit Period begins the same day you enter a health care facility and lasts until you return from the rehabilitation program. If the inpatient bill is more than 60 days in the same hospital or nursing home based upon your medical history, the bill will remain for the same period.
